9 Must-Try Vietnamese Drinks

Vietnamese cuisine is world-famous, but few visitors to the Southeast Asian country think about what they'll be sipping on the streets of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. That's a mistake: the country's drinks are as delicious and diverse as its cuisine.
Vietnamese people don't usually drink while they dine, perhaps because most meals are either soup-based or include soup at the end, to fill up any "last holes." Enjoying a drink is a separate event, whether it's meeting friends for a coffee or stopping at a streetside stand for a refreshing juice. The exception, of course, is a boozy drinking session, where the focus is on the alcohol and the food is considered an accompaniment.

Notre Dame Cathedral

Notre Dame is a cathedral located in the downtown -  District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Established by French colonists, the cathedral was constructed between 1863 and 1880. It has two bell towers, reaching a height of 58 meters (190 feet).

All building materials were imported from France. The outside wall of the cathedral was built with bricks from Marseille ( second largest city in France, after Paris). Although the contractor did not use coated concrete, these bricks have retained their bright red color until today.

This cathedral is old architecture - an opposite image with high and modern buildings in this time. Visitors and Vietnamese people like visiting here and taking beautiful pictures.

Twenty reasons to visit Ho Chi Minh City

Twenty reasons to visit Ho Chi Minh City

1 Cheap eats
Ho Chi Minh City (also still called Saigon) is famous for its pho (traditional Vietnamese noodle soup) and pork rolls. Often the best places are shops and stalls named after family members, such as "Aunty" or "Chi" (meaning sister) followed by a number representing their order in the family and, finally, their name. Though many chains, such as Pho24 and Pho 2000, do big business these days, you can't beat family-run outfits for the real deal.
